- This is Kelp Records' annual sampler, featuring new rock, folk, roots and garage music from Ottawa, Canada.
Ottawa is an exciting musical place to be in 2010. As always, a lot of its greatest music is hidden away in basements, on hard drives, never to see the light of day; heck, there are even new discoveries for Ottawans in these sweet sixteen songs.
Half of these bands have no affiliation with our label, other than being our friends, and us their fans. This is but a brief glimpse into the breadth of sounds that make up today's 613, in the hopes you will explore a little further, and get to know our fair city's abundant musical riches.
